The Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, acclaimed as one of the world’s most eco-friendly buildings, is the first US skyscraper to achieve a LEED® Platinum rating. The tower’s glass structure, topped by a 300-foot high spire, reaches a total height of 1,200 feet.
CBB worked with the Architects to develop the building’s design, to provide dramatic night imagery while still enabling views outside from the interior. A scheme using LEDs and DMX controls gives the spire an array of color- changing and dynamic effects, which interacts with the spire of the adjacent tower, also designed by CBB.
The tower’s stunning presence on the city skyline at night demonstrates that iconic lighting is achievable within the framework of sustainable design.
